The cost to repair homes and businesses as a result of natural disasters in New South Wales is expected to triple.
A report by the state’s Reconstruction Authority is expected Friday.
It will reveal the annual cost of damage to buildings will surge to $9 billion by 2060.
The report also highlights that Sydney’s Northern Beaches, the Central Coast, and areas around Byron Bay will bear the greatest threat to natural disasters.
Plans are underway between councils and the state government to better prepare responses to bushfires and floods.
