FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The suspect in a deadly shooting at a Fayetteville Walmart last week has turned himself in, according to the city’s police department.
Adrian Jelks, 19, surrendered to the College Park Police Department and was transferred to Fayetteville police custody after 2 a.m. on Wednesday. He faces charges of murder and aggravated assault, jail records show.

The shooting broke out last Friday at the Fayette Pavilion shopping center’s Walmart around 10 p.m. Antavius Holton, 19, was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died. A 9-year-old girl was also shot, but has since been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, Fayetteville police said.
Jelks was on the run for four days before he turned himself in.
“We appreciate the community’s patience as our department worked diligently to locate Jelks,” Fayetteville police said in a statement.
Sandra Romero-Nunez, 19, has also been arrested in connection to the incident. Police believe she was a party to Jelks’ alleged crimes.
